Collections Care
As Historic Deerfield’s first Collections Care Technician I was tasked with the upkeep of the objects within the museum’s historic houses and gallery spaces. This included general cleaning as well as specialized treatments such as silver polishing. I created and implemented a museum-wide IPM plan. During the early pandemic I contributed to the museum’s social media, and helped with the re-opening and health and safety planning.

Silver Polishing
Historic Deerfield has an extensive silver collection which is polished on a rolling basis.

Integrated Pest Management
An IPM program was implemented throughout the museum. In areas where the public would see the traps they were camouflaged to reduce visitor interaction. The data was tracked in a report that was complied once a year.

Public Outreach
During the pandemic it became necessary to come up with new ways to reach the public when they couldn’t visit the physical museum. Throughout that shutdown period I created several chalk drawings along the street that were references to museum objects. These were used on social media as way to encourage people to still walk along the street, even if the houses were closed.
