Integrated Pest Management Program

A major project that I completed while at Historic Deerfield was the design and implementation of an integrated pest management program. This focused on gathering data about the pests that could be found within the historic houses, as well as monitoring tangential factors such as the environmental data.

Pest Identification
It was important that the pests being caught in the traps were identified to the best of our abilities to make sure they were not a threat to the collection.

Trap Innovation
There were some traps, that due to their location, were in danger of trapping mammals like bats or mice. These all recieved a custom cover to prevent accidentally trapping these animals.

Reporting
It was important to compile all the data into reports that could be distributed to the different stakeholders within the museum. This facilitated communication about any issues.
