  • Stidham Diary

An ongoing project for the LACE majors is a collection of diaries written by Joseph H. Stidham. This project mainly focuses on stabilizing the volumes for handling, but some, like this one, required more extensive mending and resewing.

  • Ledger

This treatment focused a ledger and day book that has no spine and completely broken sewing. It was surface cleaned and mended throughout before being re-sewn.

  • Grammar of Ornament

This oversized book had both boards detached and a significant amount of surface grime. It also required new leather for the spine and covers.

  • Tintype Rehousing

What started as a simple rehousing project turned into the cleaning and consolidation of a whole collection of tintypes. Once they were stabilized custom housings were created to make the collection more accessible to researchers.
